In this class we have learnt about 21st century skills and the English language classroom. It relates to the significance of ICT for 21st century education and the way of implementing ICT in education. Malaysian Education Blueprint is based on eleven shifts where the usage of ICT is stated in the seventh shift. The seventh shift is considered as the crucial element in education which can play a vital role to enhance creativity, innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skill among students in 21st century education.

The 21st century skills which involves four pivotal elements: communication, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. Besides that, we learn in the class about 21st century literacy that consists of five momentous elements including strong academic skills which involves the 3Rs ( Reading, Writing, Arithmetic) and 4Cs (communication, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration), thinking, teamwork, reasoning and proficiency in using technology. With a view to enhancing students academic performance teachers must include all these skills in their teaching method along with the usage of ICT. Moreover, ICT is also included in the new form of curriculum which are KSSM and KSSR.

After all, it is crucial to integrate ICT in education as it is helpful to prepare students to face the real challenges in 21st century education environment. The national philosophy of education is to produce individuals who are spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonious. In order to achieve the goal students have to be excel in academic performance and enriched with the knowledge of ICT.
